The Nemedian Chronicles

Red Sonja is a fictional sword-and-sorcery comic book heroine from Dynamite Entertainment. Based on the heroine created by Robert E. Howard and adapted by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith, Red Sonja was published by Marvel Comics from 1973-1986, and Dynamite Entertainment from 2005 to present day.

Wild-child, outlaw, mercenary, warrior and, finally, queen. Sonja was raised in the simple beauty of a quite on the Hyrkanian steppes, her world turned red when Marauders butcher her tribe in a rampage of fire and blood. Gail Simone redefined her origin in her quintessential run in 2013, where a young Sonja avenges her family by hunting down the men who killed her people. Either way, Sonja is haunted by her loss, drowning her troubles in booze and battle, thieving and adventure.
