Red Sonja (Marvel Volume 3) is the third volume of Marvel Comics Red Sonja comic series. The first issue in the volume was originally published in August 1983.

Issue #1[]

Sonja and a group of men help collect taxes for the greedy Aldernal, and they cross paths with Mallus' cult group. Meanwhile, Sonja is introduced to a blood-red gemstone, a gemstone with dreadful power. It will prove to be a significant factor in the brooding conflict between Aldernal and Mallus.

Issue #2[]

Sonja owes a "Blood Debt" to the man who rescued her from death, only to die himself shortly afterwards, and her quest for vengeance leads her to meet her own female alter-ego.

Issue #3[]

Alwazar is under dire siege by Lassusar and his army. His attempts to destroy Alwazar are based on personal matters, as it was Red Sonja who struck him nearly dead when he came across her mercenary band years ago. When learning of her sacred vow, regulations are set for the battle between Lassusar and Red Sonja!

Issue #4[]

Sonja, Achmal, and Galon leave Alwazar in search of Lassusar. Sonja wishes to slay Lassusar for the humiliation that he put her through during their fight. During their trek, the threesome learn of the vengeful deity Bryina and Lassursar's task of finding the unholy child!

Issue #5[]

Because you demanded it, Robert E. Howard's She-Devil with a Sword goes monthly! Red Sonja finds herself reunited with her old compatriots Achmal and Galon. But the pleasure of this reunion is cut short by the threat of death - theirs! "Islands of the Inland Sea!" written by Bill Mantlo and drawn by Pat Broderick.

While fleeing tax collectors, Sonja and company arrive at a seemingly endless swamp. When forced to cross through it, the spooky inhabitants of the swamp mistake Sonja as their Goddess in the flesh. So do the brutish picts of the swap. After capturing the threesome, a deadly ritual is set in place. . .
