Red Sonja (Marvel Volume 2) is the third volume of Marvel Comics Red Sonja comic series. It had only two issues, published in February and March 1983.

Plots[]
Issue #1[]
Red Sonja rides with her wounded ally Zora dragged on a stretcher behind her. They reach the port city of Khorusun.
Sonja and Zora find work on a ship called the Summer Star as guards for a young girl Merina, the daughter of a diplomat named Lord Daquius. During a pirate attack, the pirate leader Kirkos sees Daquius and calls for a retreat.
The next day, a storm hits the ship but the captain refuses to head to a nearby island because it is "ill-omened".
Issue #2[]
The ship needs repairs by the time they reach the port city Turan, so Red Sonja and Zora accompany Daquius and Merina as they travel on foot to the capital, Aghrapur.
In Aghrapur, the group encounters Kirkos who has been arrested and is scheduled to be hanged the next day. Daquius tells the group that Kirkos is his brother, who was sent into exile after being falsely accused of treason. Sonja vows to rescue Kirkos. During her absence, kidnappers subdue Zora and capture Merina.
Kirkos fights with Sonja (unaware why she freed him) and takes her hostage. The kidnappers are revealed to be part of Kirkos' pirate crew and Sonja is reunited with Zora and Merina. The group escapes aboard the pirate ship.
A Turanian ship follows, carrying Lord Daquius who is looking for his daughter. Daquius dies in the ensuing battle and Merina decides she wants to stay with her uncle. As Kirkos renamed himself when he became an outlaw, he renames Merina as Valeria. Red Sonja parts ways with everyone.
A closing panel reveals that Valeria will grow up to be Valeria of the Red Brotherhood, who fights alongside Conan the Barbarian.
