Conan, popularly known as Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Cimmerian (from the name of his homeland, Cimmeria) is a fictional barbarian created by Robert E. Howard.

Physical Appearance[]
Conan is very big and extremely strong. He has bronzed skin, is muscular, in peak human condition, has long, wavy black hair that hangs around his shoulders, and has blue eyes. He is often portrayed as wearing nothing but a loincloth, but sometimes wears whatever garb matches the area he's in, and wears armor for combat when he can acquire it.

Concept and creation[]
Conan the Barbarian was the brainchild of Robert E. Howard a pulp fiction writer from Cross Plains, Texas. Howard's influences included, Rudyard Kipling, Jack London, Harold Lamb, Talbot Mundy, Arthur D. Howden Smith, Sax Rohmer, and his friend, H.P. Lovecraft.
